Conceived in a historicist key, the church of San Lorenzo was built between 1896 and 1901. Its author, Luis Bellido y Gonz\u00e1lez (1869-1955), is one of the most important Asturian figures in architecture from the 19th to the 20th century. The church of San Lorenzo is inspired by the Spanish late medieval Gothic and includes abundant stained glass windows, ogives and pinnacles, with a Latin cross plan, masked towards the outside, and a flat head. The fa\u00e7ade with a traditional gable portico and central rose window is flanked by two towers with triforated arches and topped by pinnacles. It was partially destroyed in 1936.
