This enclosure allows the capacity of the Conference Centre to be multiplied, thus achieving great versatility and allowing the holding of large-scale congresses and events, including the Asturias International Trade Fair, held annually.<\/p>\n Statue of Manolo Preciado<\/strong><\/p>\n The work of the artist Vicente Men\u00e9ndez-Santar\u00faa Prendes and located in the vicinity of the El Molin\u00f3n stadium, it is a bronze monument in honour of the Cantabrian football coach Manolo Preciado, whose time at the Gij\u00f3n club left its mark on the city for his human factor, beyond sporting achievements, among which the promotion with Sporting de Gij\u00f3n to the top flight in the 2006-2007 season stands out.<\/p>\n El Molin\u00f3n Football Stadium – Enrique Castro ‘Quini’<\/strong><\/p>\n Its name refers to a large hydraulic mill that was erected in the vicinity of its location. It is an emblematic stadium, the oldest in Spain, and one of the venues for the 1982 World Cup. As a curiosity, that same year it is a key location in the film “Starting Again”, awarded an Oscar in the category of “best foreign film”.<\/p>\n 1982 World Cup Monolith<\/strong><\/p>\n It is one of the twenty-one sculptures and\/or monuments, located in the Isabel la Cat\u00f3lica park, and pays tribute to the largest football event held in Spain. This concrete monolith with two bronze plaques symbolises the importance that the celebration of this event in the city meant for the city of Gij\u00f3n.<\/p>\n Isabel la Cat\u00f3lica Park<\/strong><\/p>\n Included within the Cultural Heritage of Asturias as a historical garden of Asturias and considered an Asset of Cultural Interest, its 151,857 m\u00b2 are home to a multitude of birds, flora and monuments that visitors will discover along their tour of the park. It is an open and dynamic project, aimed at all audiences, in which the most current artistic expressions coexist with educational and training activities.<\/p>\n Atlantic Botanical Garden<\/strong><\/p>\n Plant museum of about 25 hectares of extension designed to study, conserve and publicize the flora and vegetation of the North Atlantic.
