Estación invernal y de montaña Valgrande-Pajares

It has a ski area of 30.6 km of slopes to which 1 gondola lift, 2 four-seater chairlifts, 2 ski lifts and 2 ribbons give access. It also has 2 cross-country slopes, 1 ski touring slope, 2 competition stadiums, nursery and specific area for sleds that allow the practice of various types of skiing.
It has an artificial snow system equipped with snow cannons that are distributed along 3 km of slopes. The resort offers a multitude of services at the foot of the slopes: One hundred and fifty accommodation places, in the modalities of hotel and hostel, cafeteria, ski equipment rental and repairs and childcare.
It also has the Valgrande-Pajares Ski School, with more than 30 qualified professionals. Strategically located (just over half an hour from Oviedo and Gijón), it is one of the few resorts that has access with a double road in and out.
Access is made by both the Asturian and Leonese sides, through the N-630 road, which connects Oviedo and León passing through the Port of Pajares where the detour that leads to the Valgrande-Pajares Station is located.
All this makes Valgrande-Pajares an appropriate place to get started in winter sports, ideal for families and groups.
But the use of the season is not restricted only to the winter season. The resort and its surroundings seek to establish itself as a paradise for Trail Running and cycling in Asturias. Paths dating back to Roman times, trails that until a few decades ago were used by the inhabitants to move from one town to another, routes from which to contemplate spectacular landscapes or the largest concentration of mountain passes on the Peninsula for cycling enthusiasts will delight fans of these 2 sports disciplines.
