Commitment of the Gijón City Council to accessibility and equal access to information for all citizens.
Commitment to Accessibility
The City Council of Gijón has committed to making its website and application accessible for mobile devices, in accordance with the national legislation that transposes theDirective (EU) 2016/2102of the European Parliament and the Councilon the accessibility of websites and applications for mobile devices of public sector bodies, following the guidelines of Commission Implementing Decision (EU) 2018/1523 of 11 October 2018.
To achieve this goal, the City Council follows standard technologies established by theW3C (World Wide Web Consortium), its Web Accessibility Initiative (WAI) and the Web Accessibility Observatory of the Ministry of Territorial Policy and Public Function, in order to create a plural portal, adapted to the needs of all citizens, so that no type of disability represents an impediment in access to information.
Compliance status
The accessibility policy of Gijón City Council has been carried out in compliance with the provisions of theWeb Content Accessibility Guidelines version 2.1 (WCAG 2.1). Likewise, the requirements of:
