Gijón DataLAB is a tool created by Visita Gijón/Xixón for the city’s tourist accommodation sector. Its objective is to improve the competitiveness of accommodation businesses and of the city of Gijón/Xixón.
It is a private space where accommodation providers can exchange their data anonymously, generating information on occupancy and prices. This makes it possible to make decisions that improve their competitiveness.
Participating accommodation providers can:
- Analyse their performance and compare it with that of their direct competitors, including: hotel data vs past competitors (ADR, RevPar, occupancy). Hotel data vs future competitors (occupancy and booking trends). Comparison vs competitors, the destination and accommodation of the same category.
- Monitor occupancy and average prices in the destination in real time, both at the current moment and over a three-month time horizon.
- Consult the city’s events and link them to the evolution of their bookings and occupancy.
All accommodation providers in Gijón/Xixón can gradually join the project and benefit from the tool free of charge.
