Architectural complex that enjoys comprehensive protection in the current urban planning catalogue.
Building built in front of San Lorenzo Beach by Alejandro Alvargonzález Alvargonzález, in the transit area between the city center and the Arenal Extension.
Conceived as a residential building on the façade facing Capua Street and as a small palace in its orientation to Ezcurdia Street by the architect Mariano Marín, one of the most prestigious working in Gijón/Xixón in 1888. Renovated in 1899.
On the outside: façade of eclectic lines, of detailed design, abundantly ornamented with the various elements such as the classical orders, with pilasters, domes, arches, pediments, corbels, caryatids, etc.
Its interiors, decorated with frescoes by the painter Ventura Álvarez Sala, have a finish of exceptional quality.
It receives this name due to the “pressure” exerted by Capua Street on the promenade of San Lorenzo beach, modifying its alignment and reducing its width considerably.
