At 16 Instituto Street we see an interesting building that incorporates an approach to the façade with Art Nouveau decoration. It is a design by Miguel García de la Cruz, who can well be considered the most modernist of the architects who worked in the town of Jovellanos. He was assistant architect to the Gijón/Xixón City Council from 1903 and a year later he became municipal architect.
