Route that runs through the emblematic spaces of the Gijón tradition in the eastern part (2.4km).
Muséu Pueblu d’Asturies
Created in 1968 on the initiative of the Gijón/Xixón City Council and the Chamber of Commerce, Industry and Navigation with the aim of preserving, studying and disseminating the memory of the Asturian people. The museum occupies a wooded area of 35,000 m² and has a collection that includes tangible and intangible testimonies, covering very wide contents, so it is organized into five areas: museographic, musical, photographic, documentation, oral.
Luis Adaro Fairgrounds
An extensive area of 160,000 m2 that represents a transition between the dense urban fabric of Gijón and the beauty and tranquillity of the surroundings. This enclosure allows the capacity of the Conference Centre to be multiplied, thus achieving great versatility and allowing the holding of large-scale congresses and events, including the Asturias International Trade Fair, held annually.
Statue of Manolo Preciado
The work of the artist Vicente Menéndez-Santarúa Prendes and located in the vicinity of the El Molinón stadium, it is a bronze monument in honour of the Cantabrian football coach Manolo Preciado, whose time at the Gijón club left its mark on the city for his human factor, beyond sporting achievements, among which the promotion with Sporting de Gijón to the top flight in the 2006-2007 season stands out.
El Molinón Football Stadium – Enrique Castro ‘Quini’
Its name refers to a large hydraulic mill that was erected in the vicinity of its location. It is an emblematic stadium, the oldest in Spain, and one of the venues for the 1982 World Cup. As a curiosity, that same year it is a key location in the film “Starting Again”, awarded an Oscar in the category of “best foreign film”.
1982 World Cup Monolith
It is one of the twenty-one sculptures and/or monuments, located in the Isabel la Católica park, and pays tribute to the largest football event held in Spain. This concrete monolith with two bronze plaques symbolises the importance that the celebration of this event in the city meant for the city of Gijón.
Isabel la Católica Park
Included within the Cultural Heritage of Asturias as a historical garden of Asturias and considered an Asset of Cultural Interest, its 151,857 m² are home to a multitude of birds, flora and monuments that visitors will discover along their tour of the park. It emerged in the 30s to deal with the sanitation of a marshy area, being completed in the 60s to become today the most emblematic park in Gijón/Xixón.

Laboral City of Culture
Built between 1948 and 1957, the emblematic building of the Universidad Laboral, which with its 270,000 m² is the largest building for civil use in Spain, was reinvented in 2007 under the Laboral City of Culture brand, offering a wide range of rooms for business, cultural and social events, in addition to its theatre, which has become the largest capacity in Asturias and located in a privileged place in the square.
LABoral Centro de Arte y Creación Industrial
A multidisciplinary space of more than 14,400 m2 that favours artistic exchange and fosters the relationship between society, art, science, technology and creative industries. It is an open and dynamic project, aimed at all audiences, in which the most current artistic expressions coexist with educational and training activities.
Atlantic Botanical Garden
Plant museum of about 25 hectares of extension designed to study, conserve and publicize the flora and vegetation of the North Atlantic. It houses around 30,000 plants of 2,000 different species and stands out for its modern and non-generalist approach, based on specialized collections of flora.
